


Phil Cass CEO of the Columbus Medical Association
Phil Cass is the CEO of the Columbus Medical Association and its three-affiliate corporations, the Columbus Medical Association Foundation, the Physicians Free Clinic and the Central Ohio Trauma System Foundation. He provides leadership in the areas of strategic direction, operations management, human resources management, policy development, government relations and community relations.
The Columbus Medical Association (CMA) is a professional society for physicians of all disciplines in the greater Columbus, Ohio area. The Columbus Medical Association Foundation (CMAF) is a $61 million dollar health foundation whose focus is on access to care for the uninsured, health education and health promotion. A major undertaking for the CMAF has been the development of a community strategic plan to resolve the uninsured problem in Columbus, Ohio. This is an area of great passion and interest to Cass.
The Physicians Free Clinic (PFC) organizes the voluntary efforts of the CMA membership to provide episodic health care to the uninsured in a clinic setting in Columbus, Ohio. The Central Ohio Trauma System Foundation (COTS) is the Central Ohio trauma registry where trauma data is stored, analyzed for trends and reports made to the community.
Meditation, the use of intentional dialogue and leading strategic change initiatives are all areas of intense interest and focus for Cass. He earned his bachelor's degree from Kenyon College, his master's in Counseling and Guidance from Fairfield University and his Ph.D. from the Ohio State University in Counseling and Guidance.
