Lewis R. Smoot, Sr. President and Chief Executive Officer of The Smoot Corporation

Lewis R. Smoot, Sr., President and Chief Executive Officer of The Smoot Corporation, has a long and distinguished career both in construction and community involvement in the central Ohio area, Indianapolis, and Washington D.C.

Smoot serves in varied capacities. He is a Director of the Huntington Bancshares Incorporated and a member of the Construction Industry Round Table. He serves as a Board Member for M/I Homes and the Columbus Foundation, Member Board of Directors, Columbus Downtown Development Corporation, serves on The Ohio State University President's Business Advisory, and is a member of the Board of Managing Trustees for the Capital South Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation. Additionally, he currently serves as ex-officio for the City of Columbus , Community Relations Commission. His expertise is in administration, finance and project management.

Smoot, a veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is a graduate of Michigan State University , received an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Humane Letters from the Ohio Dominican College in May 1995 and has received numerous awards of distinction for his active participation in many aspects of the community.
