Michael Schoedinger

President, Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service

Michael Schoedinger is President of Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service in Columbus, Ohio.   He is a 6th generation owner of the firm, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, Certified Preplanning Consultant (CPC), and Certified Funeral Service Practicioner (CFSP).  He graduated from Miami University in Oxford, OH with a B.S. in Organizational Behavior and a B.S. in Personnel and Employee Relations.  He is also a graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. 

The company is one of the largest privately owned funeral companies in the U.S. operating 11 chapels, one cemetery, and four crematories.  Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service has been awarded the Family Business of the Year Award for Central Ohio and was second runner-up for the National Family Business of the Year Award.  They have also won the Business Integrity Award from the BBB, and CEO Magazine’s Best Places to Work in Central Ohio. 

Michael is currently on the Boards of the American Red Cross where he is serving as Chairman, he is Past Chairman of Junior Achievement, and the Columbus Rotary Club, and serves as a board member of COSI and the Family Business Center of Central Ohio. 

He is married to Lisa and has a 11-year old daughter, Kathryn, and a 8-year old son, Jack.
